This course will study the fundamentals of the ancient Greek language including morphology, 语法, 和 vocabulary for reading simple passages of Greek prose.

  • GRE 102: Greek 2
  • 4

A continuation of GRE 101. Prerequisite: GRE 101 or equivalent with a grade of C- or better.

  • LAT 101: Fundamentals of Latin I
  • 4

This course will study the fundamentals of the Latin language including morphology, 语法, 和 vocabulary for reading simple passages of Latin prose 和 poetry.

  • LAT 102: Fundamentals of Latin II
  • 4

A continuation of LAT 101. Prerequisite: LAT 101 or equivalent.

  • Choose 6 units from the following:
  • GRE 301: Greek Readings*
  • 3

Readings of selected portions of the ancient Greek Biblical 和 classical texts with special emphasis on building translation skills through a review of morphology 和 语法 as well as the acquisition of the new vocabulary. Prerequisites: C- or better in GRE 101, GRE 102. May be repeated for credit.

  • LAT 301: Latin Readings
  • 3

Rapid readings 和 translation of classical 和 medieval Latin texts. Topics may include prose authors (Cicero, 凯撒, 李维, 塔西佗), poets (Catullus, 维吉尔, 贺拉斯, 奥维德), medieval literature (Augustine through the Reformation), 和 prose composition. Prerequisites: C- or better in LAT 101LAT 102. May be repeated for credit.
